Colin Kapelovitz

Language Arts Instructor

I have worked in Education since returning to the University of North Dakota to get my Master's Degree in English. I taught as a Graduate Teaching Assistant during this time, then took a position as English Lecturer at UND. I also spent a semester teaching at the American College of Norway in Moss during this time. Following my tenure at UND, I received my MFA from Kingston University in London, England. I then returned to my hometown of Dickinson and began substitute teaching and doing writing work. I was hired at SWCHS in December of 2017. I believe the spark of knowledge takes various forms in everyone, thus alternative school teaching is a natural fit for me.

My girlfriend Katie and I live in Dickinson. I enjoy mountain biking in the nearby Badlands, boating, fishing and hiking; she enjoys watching movies indoors with me.
