Leading the Way: DMS NJHS Students Take Action

Last month, 34 members of the Dickinson Middle School National Junior Honor Society joined more than 230 participants at the 8th Annual Break Free Youth Action Summit in Mandan.

Our students spent the day learning about tobacco and vape prevention, hearing from inspiring speakers, and diving into sessions on leadership and healthy choices.

After returning home, NJHS members put their learning into action, visiting every elementary school in the district during Red Ribbon Week to educate 4th graders on making positive choices.

A huge thank-you to Danielle Romanyshyn (Southwestern District Health Unit) and Sherry Leavitt (ND Full-Service Community Schools) for their partnership and support in empowering youth to make a difference!
