Special Delivery for the Western ND Honor Flight

A third grade classroom holds up their cards for veterans

Over the past two weeks, students across Dickinson Public Schools put their hearts and creativity into a special project for the Western ND Honor Flight.

During each Honor Flight trip, veterans receive a Military Mail Call, which includes a bundle of handwritten letters and cards meant to remind them how much their service is appreciated. Some veterans don’t have family or friends who can participate, so our students stepped up in a big way.

From colorful drawings to heartfelt messages of gratitude, DPS students created beautiful cards that will be included in upcoming mail call packets. Their kindness will travel all the way to Washington, D.C., and into the hands of veterans.

We are proud of our staff and students for honoring those who served, and for showing that small acts of appreciation can make a big impact.
