DALC Students Trip to the State Capitol in Bismarck

DALC students at the Bismarck Capitol with Governor Burgum

Earlier this year, the Dickinson Adult Learning Center (DALC) received a grant from the Dickinson Public Schools Foundation to provide materials to start a Citizenship and Civics course so students can learn more about American history, understand how our democracy works, and prepare for the US Citizenship interview.

The DALC students took a trip to the State Capitol in Bismarck as a part of the course. The trip consisted of a tour of the Capitol building, including Senate and House chambers, and meeting with DPI Adult Ed staff, the State Superintendent, and Governor Burgum.

A big thank you to the DPS Foundation as well as teacher Lindy Obach for her vision of teaching Civics and Citizenship to her students.
