If you walked into Jefferson Elementary recently and saw a group of students holding scissors around Miss Ramsey… don’t worry, it was all part of the plan!

Our school took on a “Brave the Shave” fundraiser to support the Bismarck Cancer Center Foundation, and let’s just say our Jefferson students showed up BIG. For days, students brought in coins, filled buckets, and kept a close eye on the daily totals. The competition was real, but so was the heart behind it.

The winning class helped CUT and SHAVE Mrs. Ramsey's hair! Who is this winning class?

Mrs. Hutzenbiler’s first graders! They brought in an impressive $718.50!

Before the big moment, the student council stepped in to section off Mrs. Ramsey’s hair (into many, many pieces… we may have gotten a little carried away). Then, one by one, with support, the first graders and student council members took turns chopping away at Mrs. Ramsey's locks.

And then… the grand finale.

Once all the ponytails were gone, Mrs. Hutzenbiler took over and shaved Mrs. Ramsey’s head completely. Mrs. Ramsey handled it like a champ, smiling, laughing, and fully embracing the moment for such an important cause. Mrs. H might have a future career as a barber if teaching doesn't work out.

By the end of it all, Jefferson Elementary raised an incredible $2,942.80, which we proudly presented to the Bismarck Cancer Center Foundation.

More than anything, this event showed just how big our students’ hearts are. There was excitement, teamwork, a little bit of chaos, and a whole lot of kindness, all wrapped into one unforgettable day.

And yes… Mrs. Ramsey can officially say she’s rocking a brand-new look!
