DICKINSON HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS SELECTED FOR CITY OF DICKINSON YOUTH COMMISSION
The Youth Commission is made up of local high school students who bring their voices and ideas to the table to help shape the future of our community. Established by the City Commission in August 2021, this group plans events and partners with local organizations like the Dickinson Area Chamber of
Commerce, and provides youth perspectives on ways to make Dickinson an even better place for young people to live, learn, and grow.

DENA VENNEMAN AWARDED THE PLAYERS TEACHER OF THE MONTH
Congratulations to Dickinson High School Science teacher, Mrs. Dena Venneman!
Mrs. Venneman was nominated by a former student as the Players Teacher of the Month. Representatives from Players presented this award to Mrs. Venneman on Thursday at Dickinson High School. Congratulations, Mrs. Venneman, and thank you to Players!
MICHELLE ORTON ELECTED VICE PRESIDENT OF THE ND SCHOOL BOARDS ASSOCIATION
We are proud to share that DPS School Board President Michelle Orton was recently elected Vice President of the North Dakota School Boards Association (NDSBA) during the 2025 NDSBA Annual Convention in Bismarck.
In addition, she was honored with the Veteran Board Member Service Award, recognizing her exemplary service, leadership, and dedication to public education.

ETHAN KECK NAMED NATIONAL RUNNER-UP IN THE 24–25 DESIGN/DRAFTING COMPETITIONHelp us congratulate Dickinson High School senior, Ethan Keck, who has been named National Runner-Up in the 2024–25 Design/Drafting Competition hosted by the Education Foundation of NAWIC (National Association ofWomen in Construction).
Ethan is a student in the Architecture & Engineering II program at the Southwest Area CTE Academy.
The award was presented by Amy Berg, NAWIC Chapter Chair, during a special ceremony attended by Ethan’s advisor, Mrs. Lehman, his family, his work-based learning company, JE Dunn, and his peers.
We’re incredibly proud of Ethan’s innovation, hard work, and leadership in tackling real-world challenges through design. Way to go!
