DPS Pantry and Closet is excited to announce a wonderful partnership with Miss Elisyn Ahmann and the Girl Scouts, which promises to make a significant impact in our community. Miss Ahmann has taken the initiative to spearhead a “Kicks for Kids” drive aimed at collecting new boots and sneakers for children and families in need within our district. This project is not merely a one-time event; it is set to be an ongoing annual initiative that will support our students continuously. To date, Miss Ahmann has generously made two large donations of brand-new boots and sneakers, which will greatly benefit our students and their families by providing them with essential footwear.

My name is Sherry Leavitt, and I have the privilege of serving as one of the site coordinators for full-service community schools, where I oversee the operations of the DPS Pantry and Closet. Alongside Miss Elisyn Ahmann, I recently applied for a grant from Marathon Petroleum. Unbeknownst to each other, we both submitted applications for funding, and we are thrilled to share the great news that Marathon has approved a grant amounting to $2,000! This generous grant includes $500 specifically allocated for Miss Ahmann's Girl Scout “Kicks for Kids” drive, while the remaining funds will be utilized to support the various needs of our Pantry and Closet.

Marathon Petroleum has expressed its commitment to partnering with local organizations and stakeholders to create a positive, meaningful impact in the communities where they operate. Their support is invaluable to us at the Dickinson Public Schools Foundation Inc., and we are incredibly grateful for their investment in our mission. As noted in their statement, “We are proud to support Dickinson Public Schools Foundation Inc. Best wishes for continued success.” “Marathon Petroleum is committed to collaborating with our stakeholders to invest in organizations and initiatives that make a positive, meaningful impact in communities where we operate”.

In closing, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Miss Elisyn Ahmann for her unwavering dedication and to Marathon Petroleum for their generous support. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of our students and families, and we look forward to the continued success of the “Kicks for Kids” drive and the overall mission of the DPS Pantry and Closet!
