Early childhood education is critical to developing social and emotional development in children and preparing them for a lifetime of learning. With an increased demand for early childhood education in our community, Dickinson Public School offers a Monday – Friday, half-day early childhood preschool program in the DPS Hagen building (402 4th Street West). Our morning session is from 8:00 am to 11:00 am, while our afternoon session is from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm. There is a thirty-minute grace period before and after class for parents to help with pickup and drop off. Available for any child ages 3-5 who is potty-trained, the program costs $300/month September through May, following the Dickinson Public School calendar, with a non-refundable $75 registration fee.
For those children attending school for the first time, this is a great adventure away from home. It is here that your child develops lasting attitudes about school, teachers, and classmates. It is also here that your child learns to accept other children and to be accepted by them. Our classrooms are led by certified teachers with special education backgrounds and highly qualified paraprofessionals. A research-based curriculum is utilized to support children’s learning and development. We believe close collaboration between the teacher and parent(s), or guardian(s) is crucial to improving children’s academic achievement, social competencies, and emotional well-being. It is our wish that your child develops a lifelong love of learning.
