Roosevelt Elementary School adopted the Positivity Project, which is being implemented this year. The Positivity Project aims to empower America's youth to build positive relationships and become their best selves. The vision is to equip educators with the training, strategy, and resources to teach their students positive psychology's 24 character strengths.

A few weeks ago, Roosevelt Elementary focused on the character strength of Teamwork. To help us better understand what teamwork means, the Blue Hawk Boys Basketball team came into the classrooms. They helped us learn that "Teamwork means you work well as a member of a group or team. You are loyal, reliable, and dedicated to helping your team achieve its goals."

They also shared that "Teamwork is the ability and willingness to place overall group success as a higher priority than individual achievement. Those who demonstrate strengths in teamwork often work to help all group members find success. These individuals are willing to commit time and resources in order to further group goals and help toward the greater good."

In just 15-minutes a day, The Positivity Project helps our school develop a common vocabulary and self-aware, empathetic students. The resources given will assist and enable Roosevelt to build a positive culture — through character and relationships.
