About Our School

About:

Located in the southwestern North Dakota, the city of Dickinson continues to welcome newcomers from around the United States and the world. At Heart River Elementary, nearly 300 students attend school daily to receive instruction and support from a staff consisting of twenty-seven certified educators and seventeen classified staff members.

Staff:

Heart River Elementary has a dedicated faculty and staff who strive to make each day a positive learning experience. Although relatively small in numbers, HR is big on heart! Kindergarten through fifth grade teachers work tenaciously to address students needs. Each grade level has two sections except for kindergarten, which has three sections. HR has two Title I teachers, two special education teachers, a physical education, music and learning disabilities teacher. Rounding out the faculty are two speech therapists and our counselor. Students at Heart River Elementary are provided services from a shared District-wide librarian, art teacher and gifted/talented teacher.

The classified staff members at Heart River focus on the support for learning. This staff includes seventeen paraprofessionals, two custodians, four food service employees, one playground supervisor, an administrative assistant and principal.
