Heart River Elementary First-Ever Health and Wellness Fair

Health and Wellness Fair at Heart River's gym

Last week, Heart River Elementary had its first-ever Health and Wellness Fair. With the support of our community, the fair had 15 different booths for students and families to interact with. The businesses that participated included Dominion Boxing MMA & Fitness, Dickinson Police Department - North Dakota, Dickinson Fire Department, Lovin' Literacy For Life Reading Rodeo, West Dakota Parent & Family Resource Center , North Dakota State University Extensions, Jennifer Braun teaching car seat safety, SWDHU, United Way, Stark County EMT, Audry Kuntz teaching CPR, WRCC, Sheri Sanford educating on nutrition and Tori Sanford educating on our break boxes and wellness room.

Each booth provided educational materials to our students and families. Students received a passport and had to go to at least 8 booths and participate to receive a stamp. Once the passport was filled out, they received tickets to enter to win prizes. We gave away 21 awards that were all related to outdoor activities. The Health and Wellness Fair had a fantastic turnout, with 168 attendees!

A BIG thank you to all the businesses that took part in this incredible event! We are hopeful this will become an annual event at Heart River!
