Dickinson High School Student Council and eight classes teamed up to spread light on culture and diversity while holding a fundraiser to support Ukraine.
Students and staff enjoyed delicious food while learning about the different countries that make up DHS international students. Below is a run-through of what Diversity/Celebration of Culture Day consisted of:
- Mrs. Wilkie's culinary class prepared and sold crepes.
- Mrs. Douglas' World Geography class presented on Latin American countries.
- Paula William's Spanish 2 class presented on Peru and Colombia.
- Joan's Coate's Daily Grind hosed a French Coffee Shop (Le Chat Noir Cafe)
- Jeremy Wanner's Project-Based World History class presented on the Industrial Revolution's world impact.
- ELL students presented on their countries of origin and sold Mexican food, with the proceeds going to World Central Kitchen. This was organized by Mouchefa Batcha.
- Heather Blum's Independent Living class created the posters for the event.
- Mrs. Bradley's French 2 class presented on French-speaking countries and decorated the French Cafe.
Dickinson High School raised approximately $1,500 for the World Central Kitchen, which will provide about 300 meals to Ukrainians.
