DHS 5th Graders Explore Career Day at Heart River

Students huddled around a green tractor

Last week, DPS 5th graders explored a one-of-a-kind district-wide career day at Heart River Elementary.

The event was made up of two parts: a traditional career fair where students could walk around to booths and an outside vehicle fair where they could see vehicles and machinery specific to certain careers.

The purpose of career day is to introduce students to a sampling of career clusters with various levels of training and education requirements. Students left the event expressing excitement for their future and an understanding of some of the steps needed to get there.

We are so thankful for our community members who were able to participate and support DPS students' career readiness!
