Propaganda Gallery

Students looking at WWII Propaganda

7th Grade students at Dickinson Middle School are currently learning about World War II!

To enhance student learning, Mr. Staffileno has set up the media center with a Propaganda Gallery containing examples of WWII propaganda. 7th-grade Team 7A and 7B participated – (Staffileno, Evans, Karey & Berger's classes) with each class walking through the gallery silently and reflecting upon the propaganda.

The purpose of the gallery walk is to help answer the question that students often ask, which is "Why did people go along with the Nazi's leadership during Holocaust?" – so this provides artifacts for students to see how people were persuaded. Teachers also wanted students to learn critical thinking through inductive reasoning. We hope students learn the power of words and propaganda! Students took this project very seriously and had insightful discussions after the walkthrough.
