The superintendent is appointed by the school board and functions as its executive officer to administer the operation of the schools. He is also an advisor in keeping the Board informed of the operation and progress of the various programs of the schools. The superintendent is the educational leader who promotes the success of all students and staff in the performance of their jobs. He also supervises the transportation department.

Vince Reep is the Assistant Superintendent for the Dickinson Public School District. His main responsibilities are business and finance, human resource management, supervising buildings/grounds, and food services. Other responsibilities include: assisting in budget development, accounts receivable, banking, end of the year reports, managing the 21st century grant, and overseeing accounts payable and payroll. He also produces the enrollment reports and projections for the District, Title IX and is the Central Office Manager.
