The Foundation budgets $2,000 annually to help students that qualified for national competitions with their expenses.  Sponsorship requests are due by May 1 and the superintendent determines which requests to fund and the amount.  We have helped students attend national Technology conventions, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Conferences, Skills USA competitions (welding fabrication), National Speech competitions, People to People World Leadership forums, Hugh O’Brien Youth (HOBY) Leadership seminars, National History Day competition and more.  It’s a way to help our students excel at the highest levels.

2016-2017 Sponsorships Include:

DHS & Hagen Technology Student Association – $1,300       Twenty-two students qualified to compete at the national competiton in Orlando, Florida.

Future Business Leaders of America Leadership Converence – $450    Seven students qualified to compete at the national competition in Anaheim, California.

DHS Speech Team – $150    Two students qualified to compete at the national Speech and Debate Tournament in Birmingham, Alabama.

DHS Science = $100   One student  qualified to compete at the International Science and Engineering Fair in Los Angeles, California.
