Sponsorships

The Foundation budgets $2,000 annually to help students that qualified for national competitions with their expenses.  Sponsorship requests are due by May 1 and the superintendent determines which requests to fund and the amount.  We have helped students attend national Technology conventions, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Conferences, Skills USA competitions (welding fabrication), National Speech competitions, People to People World Leadership forums, Hugh O’Brien Youth (HOBY) Leadership seminars, National History Day competition and more.  It’s a way to help our students excel at the highest levels.

DHS Future Business Leaders of America

“We had a very successful National Leadership Conference.  Four students attended from June 27 through July 3 in San Antonio, Texas.  Each student participated in the event for which they qualified for nationals (fourth place or better at the state competition). Also, they participated in one open event of their choice.  They attended outstanding workshops, networked with students from all over the country, and additionally, had a busy week of cultural activities. Students toured the Alamo, participated in a bus tour of the cultural and historical points of significance, visited the Tower of the America’s and spent a day at Six Flags.  They also were able to spend time on the world famous San Antonio River Walk section of the city.

Thank you for helping with the registration fees. That was much appreciated.”

“The TSA students did great at Nationals in Washington, DC this summer.  The Music Production Team for TSA placed in the top 12 in the nation.  That team was made up of John Dvorak, Austin Haider and Carissa Dalen.  The Structural Engineering Team placed in the top 16 in the nation.  That team was made up of Carter Billman and Griffin Obrigewitch.  The Dickinson High School TSA received a Silver Award at Nationals this year for raising over $500 for our Spirit of Service which is the American Cancer Society.  I was extremely proud of them, it is a great accomplishment.  There was approximately 8500 students in attendance at nationals.”
