About Dickinson High
Dickinson High School is committed to providing the best possible educational opportunities for its students through its programs. DHS joins forces with the rest of the Dickinson Public School District in its mission, "Empowering Students to Succeed."
Dickinson High School educates an average of 860 students from grades nine through twelve each year, and employs 3 certified administrators, 59 certified teachers, 3 counselors, and 38 classified staff members. DHS utilizes a four period-per-day block schedule, allowing students to earn up to 8 credits per year. DHS is State Accredited with Commendation by the North Central Association (NCA).
DHS offers 188 different courses in a variety of academic and CTE areas, as well as 6 Advanced Placement courses and 8 college dual-credit courses. Courses are designed to serve as a basis for functioning in today's complex society. Students can select courses to prepare them for continuing education at the technical or academic level. DHS has a history of preparing students who become National Merit Scholars.
