GED Candidates- Please note it takes a minimum of 2 weeks to earn a GED diploma, depending upon daily attendance.  Earning a diploma may take longer if skill brush-up is needed.

Who can take the tests?

   You must be at least 18 years of age and your class must have graduated.

   Approval is given to test applicants from 16-18 years old ONLY upon establishing in writing an urgent need for early testing:  call us for details.

   Military persons living in North Dakota qualify.

Policy & Schedule for GED Finals testing:


GED Testing - GED tests are administered on Thursdays , by appointment. Please call at least 24 hours in advance.

GED Testing Policy

  1. GED testing is scheduled a minimum of 24 hours in advance.
  2. All GED test-taking sessions will be paid for and scheduled in advance.  GED candidates may pay all test fees in advance and then schedule the testing as they can fit it in or pay for each test in advance when scheduled.
  3. If a GED candidate is late for a testing appointment, misses his/her appointment or doesn't call ahead or within a 24-hour period after the appointment with a legitimate reason for missing, the GED test fee paid for that particular test will be forfeited.
  4. If a GED candidate's test fees are being paid by an agency and the candidate misses the testing time without giving notice as stated above, the test fee may be forfeited.  The candidate may then have to pay his/her own test fee when making an appointment to take that particular test.
  5. The GED candidate will be required to read, sign and date the Dickinson GED Testing Center Written Policy indicating his/her understanding and compliance with the policy.  The original will be given to the candidate and a copy will remain in the candidate's file at the Center.

What is required before testing:

   The Pre-Finals class must be completed prior to scheduling GED testing.  This class gives testing tips, instructions on calculator usage, how to fill out the math answer sheet (including the alternate format) and complete all testing paperwork.  This class is free of charge and given at the DALC.

  Bring your Social Security Card and photo ID with birth date and address.

   Bring your payment for the test(s) you will be taking
$20.00 per test.

Note:  If you are experiencing financial difficulites

         you may apply for FREE GED testing fees.            Feel free to ask an instructor how you may apply.
