Standard Safety Procedures during a Lock Down
During a lock down no person, with the exception of an official, will be allowed to leave or enter a Dickinson Public School District Building. Lock downs are initiated to protect students and staff by limiting individuals with unknown intentions from entering the building. In some instances an outside threat may not be identifiable and allowing parents or the public into the building would place our students and staff at a risk. During a lock down administrative staff are engaged in protecting the building from possible inside or outside threats. Please do not attempt to contact the individual school or pick up your child during a lock down. We understand this may cause an inconvenience, but our hope is, you understand we have your child and hundreds more safety at interest.
Lincoln Elementary is a North Central Accredited Elementary school. It has a twenty-eight unit Windows lab which is directly connected to the internet. The library has a collection of over 8000 books that can be accessed through a computerized checkout system.
The experienced staff of thirty-five certified and twenty-five classified staff use a team approach to educate 445 kindergarten through fifth grade students. There are separate teachers for Physical Education and Music. Grades two through fifth have an Art teacher. The Gifted and Talented teacher is school wide for qualifying students. A full-time Counselor and part-time Reading Coach are also on staff.
